It’s usually someone on a team or that is involved with a bat company that gets it started. Look us up on FB and you will see what took place at a huge Church tournament many of us go to each year. Long story short, met this family who has an Autistic son and a younger son with Down’s. Parker, the older brother with autism was given several things by one of our players Cody Roton. He ended up hanging out by the dugout with us for most of the next game and myself and all others on the team engaged in some very fun conversation with this amazing kid. So it’s the little things like this that turn into big things that happen quite often. I could care less that we didn’t do well in that tournament, we touched someone’s life and that is much bigger than any shirt or ring you can win for playing a recreational game. We should all challenge ourselves to make a difference off the field as much as we try to make a difference on the field. Make the world a better place. |
