The Ball was perfect

Speaking from a fan's perspective who has watched the past 30 Smoky's, the ball was perfect and made for some of the best games in recent Smoky history. Sundays two games and the game Saturday night between Resmondo and MPT were great games to watch. Also 5 inning games are great from a fan's perspective. Games are shorter and teams have a greater sense of urgency to score every inning. I'm sure players disliked the ball and 5 inning games because both limits a players production, but if you want more fans to watch this level of softball, both would help.

I have to agree with the ball used. Hey dummies, if the ball is not flying to ur preference, learn to hit line drives and play the damn game. All I saw was idiots trying to muscle a ball out of the park and failure after failure. That's dumb, technology has made most of you anyway and you all prooved it this weekend. The ball proved that none of you self proclaimed studs are not what you think you are. Hahahaha, I'm still laughing at you.

Them balls was a flyin. Some feller hit one that went fowl and right threw my dang pickem up truck front winder. I figgered that I could keep the ball since it was in my pickem up truck, but instead they kicked my hillbilly ass out the park for stealing a dam ball. I were go in to return the dam ball, but my dog, Rufus, chewed the hell out that dam ball. Who do I talk to about getting my winder replaced? Much oblige, Mr. Jack Billy Bob!

The best Home Run hitters I have seen can go yard with any ball or weather condition. They also had two types of swings where they either drove the ball or perfected how to cut the ball other wise known as spinning the ball. If you depend on how lethal your new bat is or how hard the ball is to generate power you will eventually run into a tourny where you get exposed as a non power hitter. The next tourny those that were exposed will probably turn right back into power hitters.

Speaking as a player who has played in every Smoky since 2009 certain balls were just right and certain balls wernt. As a batter how TF am I supposed to know if the ball the pitcher is holding is gonna fly or not fly? If the balls were consistent then as a hitter I'd know weather I could hit it out or not. I had 5 hr this year, one of my lowest ever... I also had 4 balls I felt I hit very well caught at the fence. 2 of the 4 were with brand new balls.. I've hit more softballs then I could ever count, and I know this weekend the variance in the balls was 20-40 ft difference... Now for all the professional hitters in here saying hit it here or there, that 20-40 ft will also get you to line out or ground put just as easy. I can basehit as good as anyone in the game, and I promise the ball makes a big difference in even doing that.

The one in your last or 2nd to last AB vs smash it on Sunday I thought was absolutely murdered and it looked like it was caught at the fence lol

JB12 I have to agree, you smashed a couple that seemed to die at the track. Keep swinging hard, as always and good things will continue to happen for you. To all the other professional hitter's, learn to play the game gentlemen. Meaning if the balls are not flying, go to plan B and hit the gaps, holes and hit like ur on a 300 ft field. Keep swinging hard just in case you hit it. Have a great day gentlemen.

50 compression points was the variance allowed on the spec last time I looked at classic M. Could be anywhere from a 40 350 to a 40 300 big difference. I'm sure the allowable tolerance is around the same to get the stamp now too. Glue doesn't cure quit well and covers don't get as tight and you have a recipe for a shit batch of balls. Too bad this issue isn't going away.

I personally agree with Jason here. The ball was not smoky esk to say the least. The first game we played I managed to get 3 out all into the trees ball felt great. (Heat of the day) That night played game two and stood on two that went to warning track ball felt softer than any ball Ive hit this year. That is as inconsistent as any and tough to know what ball is being hit per AB. Everyone had the same conditions and balls but as a player Id like it to be consistent esp the ball we are hitting.

I agree with what JB is saying. He is saying if you step on one and it happened to be an average prom then it went. If you step on it and it was a bad prom it was a flyout and changing your game to singles it was the same. A good prom went over the infielder a bad one was caught as a linedrive.

I saw this with many players.

Jason that last hit in the gap was struck well no doubt, you had 2 strikes on you and it was a hair outside. Only way to go with it was opp field and just bad luck that the center on the showcase field was 350 or it would have gone from left to right either one no doubt. I was telling DW you guys and SIS are my favorite team to watch play. Both teams stay up and will their way to a win. This weekend in Cincy all those gaps caught on F3 will be bombs.
Ac it was smart to walk you in that last at bat, I think you would have done the job no doubt. I was talking to DW and I thought you had some of the longest bombs on the showcase field while I was watching. Both of you guys struck it well this weekend, even though Branch didn’t have a lot of bumps you hit it square. Oh and this off topic but ol Andy played the game as good as anybody this weekend. He just punched it line to line and I bet my life his average prob was close to as consistent to his regular season average as anybody who played the smoky this weekend. Just a smart hitter who “played the game”, and did his job for his team and teammates. I know the ball wasn’t what it usually is, but man it was fun to see guys play the game and studs came up big and still hit, when seemingly everybody couldn’t. As a fan of conference I throughly enjoyed this weekend! Now Cincy I bet my life I’m going to see “my bad, and toss the bat upset” on the solo hrs this coming weekend!. I can already see it lol.

Dont complain about the ball or crybaby DW will get upset we like hearing from the players that played the game rather then the nerd in the stands videoing he is such a stick in the mud the board is meant to speak and or give opinions talk shit u dont like what's said keep scrolling and take your usssa shirt off

Not everyone plays on the same size fields for one of your over at Everett yeah you’re going to have a monster smoky on them midget ass fields and dudes numbers become inflated as hell
