So if you go take 1st or 2nd to a tournament with 4 major teams you only get 210 and 170 pts. If you go to an event with no major teams in it to easily win, you get 195. Now Classic Glass and Proton are ranked higher then 2 major teams who clearly are way better.

Major teams don't need to chase points to get in the major smiley face roll eyes face lolol (which is why the points are like this for the out west events)

The problem is that it destroys the seeding for other tournaments. Like in Tx. Classic was the 2 seed but when they got to play a lower seeded Major teams they got killed. I understand the point being made. For instance, if the Smokies was this weekend, there would be 2 teams seeded higher then major teams that are clearly way better.

No one is stopping these other teams from playing on the west coast. Why worry about where the major teams are seeded? They're suppose to be the best, so it shouldn't matter where in the bracket they are. Worried about not having a later start? Worried about having to play an AA team instead of a C or B team in the first round? Its dramatic sounding when you say "it destroys the seeding". I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see the brackets shaken up, especially for a dual. I like seeing major teams battle through the losers bracket. They carry 18 players. Make the most out of the roster.

When making a schedule, you choose where you want to go. Teams avoid many events because they chase points; all the teams are here, so we go?

Palm event could of been a BIG AA/A event, but a lot of the A teams chase the bigger teams to get those points.

No team should be mocked if they go to a Conference tourney that others don't go; some teams do not have the budget to go back east, do the Major or AA teams have the budget to go to Palm or Salem?

If the strong AA/Major teams able to go, why. not go to these events, and give your BENCH some AB's being they might kill some of these teams?

If more teams come to the4se events, guarantee many Major/AA teams will follow b, because they have to play to.

Don't follow teams or go because the HIGH MONEY teams are there, control your destiny and hit the tourneys that help you get that $$$$

In the past, we had Bay Area qualify for the Major hitting the tourneys on the West, and just squeaked in! That's great managing to go that route, and even won a A world during that run.

VOR is correct.

And the current points system was voted on to seed by total points after the Hall of Fame Classic instead of in June after Chicago like it used to be.

Giving more points for Major teams being in the tournament was also removed as it favored Major teams.

Everyone knows the points system going in. No one is saying Major teams can't go to Phoenix or Palm Springs.

Classic Glass took 3rd in Dual 1
Proton took 2nd in Dual 2

Both teams have done well in against major teams. Proton has beat both smash it and ressy and is 10-1 against AA teams per the rankings and 1 less tournament. If you watched the games then you know they are stacked. Classic just added Kirkwood. It looks like last year that AA is strong.

I dont think the intent was to blame teams. But it doesnt see right if no major teams and majority of the AA teams dont go to an event the points given out are the same where tournaments with all 4 major teams are playing.

All tournaments should be scored by total amount of conference teams and not by the class of teams.

Take for example Virginia this week. You are an 'A' team and you spend $7k to get to the event which two weeks ago showed MPT, Monsta, and Smash It Sports major teams on the team list.

Now the bracket comes out and only Smash It is going. So the winner should get less points? Silly.

No one knows for sure who is going to be at what tournament and every team has the same chance to go to each tournament when the schedule comes out at the beginning of the year. To play games and say one tournament is worth more than another based on the class of teams is dangerous.

All of softball except the conference.

Conference team is a conference team except for the first 3 tournaments of the season where they are seeded by class and previous years points within class.

Simple fix, after the first 3 tournaments seed teams by their overall points average. Top 8 averages would be.
Monsta 232.5
Smash it 210
Resmondo 198
Proton 193.4
Mpt 184
Competitive Edge 172
Seminoles 167.5
Classic Glass 164.5

I like the average idea as long as a team has more than one tournament up until a certain date.

But the current system works well except for the 180 point tournaments. Those skew the results and we don't always get the best 16 teams at the major.

All tournaments should be scored the same in my opinion.

Except the conference teams build and restrict rosters intentionally for worlds, so it affects and is present in the conference as well.

They didnt beat Ressy. The Ressy/Mpt was a double forfeit and basically just a bye win

If you are A..or AA, you should put these tourneys on your schedule next year so you don't complain, and allow others to complain.

The Major teams should not validate a tourney win or points for you, if thats the case, good luck and thanx for your donation of $$$ to the conference.

If you are playing conference, you should strive to get more money for your buck and games.

Be wiser if your are trying to wn some travel money, or qualify for the Major World series, and see what other teams are doing to get in. This is what your schedule should be built off, and hit the higher/bigger one's tp check out.

West Coast team; great schedule.
Vegas, AZ, Palm, Oregon, Wa, and mix in FL dual, Tx events, and so forth; this will save your money and better investment for your money.

If guys are saying to follow the Major/AA tems, they are lobbying for themselves being they might want to have that schedule to be scene by the upper/better sponsored teams?

We had a crayz schedule one year, and we had a great sponsor. We went back east and hit 3 majors, and our sponsor then thought, we have these guys telling me this schedule, because they wanted to highlight themselves, talk to the their sponsors, and try to get on a A team?

I hope we can get events as big on the West like those on the East side of the map. The West Coast teams are the ones that can build it up, save some money and stay on this side of the map. Tryst me, teams will follow, and then teams will dodge playing in the events with 5 Major teams in it being you get your points, and better chance at that money playing on the West Coast.

these are all valid points but I believe the question was why are tournaments with no Major teams in them the same amount of points without them. lower level teams are now sitting in the top 5 of the point standings which effects bracket seeding for tournaments like the Chi, Smokies, and Cin

Mullins is the only Legit Major player the rest are watch list at best.... Proton is a AA team

If by lower level you mean 'AA' teams are ahead of Major teams it isn't because of tournaments without major teams paying more points, it is because the 'AA' teams have played more tournaments and your score for the year is based on your best 7 events.

Classic Glass and Proton have played 6 events.

True DW. Just like in golf, you have some average players ranked very high in the Fedex standings because they have played alot of tournaments. Rory is ranked #13, but has only played 7 tournaments. Points for golf tournies are based on the quality of the tournament, not if Rory, Rahm, or Tiger plays in it

To valid...what exactly is the issue with major teams being seeded lower? They obviously have the talent, not to mention a bigger bench. It gets old seeing a major team beat up on B and C teams in the first round. Classic has spent the money to play 2 more tournies than monsta, but you feel monsta should be higher because of the quality of tournaments they play? Again, no one is stopping major teams from traveling to the west coast to get these supposedly easy points. Do you think it's fair that west coast teams have to spend more money to keep traveling east? No one wants to spend money unnecessarily if they don't have to. What if next year, the first 4 tournies are on the west coast? Would the east coast teams fly across the country or will they sit at home and fall behind in points quickly? In my opinion, they'd be forced to fly out west for fear of falling behind and having to pay catch up on points. I think all conference events should have the point system be the same. At the beginning of the year, teams set their schedules. Say classic signs up to play in a tournament where 4 major teams are scheduled to be at. Injuries happen along with other issues, forcing 2 major teams to pull out. Are you going to drop your amount of points?
