GSL World Feedback

I know this is a message board for B and above events, but I think by posting here the feedback would get to the proper people. |
In the C event they only tested bats on Sunday, which I think is an issue in itself, but they only tested the loser bracket games and not the WB Finals. That seems completely backwards to me.
Also the bracket itself was a train wreck. They had the WB finals on the back field, and the loser bracket games on the championship field. Win or lose both teams had to trek back in to the main part of the complex, where the tournament finished up. Not the end of the world, but tacky. It was also the reason given for not testing the WB finals game. Vic didn't want to drive it out to the back field. His words. I voiced my concerns then. If there is one game you test in the whole tournament, it should be the WB finals, in my opinion. It was lazy and unacceptable.
Also when we lost, we had to wait on the 4th place game. It should be scheduled so they are waiting on us, or at minimum played at the same time as the WB Finals. Pretty basic stuff, in my opinion. We should never have to wait on them.
I only give the feedback, because I like GSL and USSSA. I do think it is a first class organization. To be honest, the One Nation World was much better run tournament. They tested all the bats. The game times all made sense. The bracket was perfectly laid out. The umpires were better. All around it was a better event, and I hate to say that.
This is my smallest complaint. If none of the other stuff happened, I wouldn't have said a peep about this, but here were our scheduled game times;
9:00am Sunday (WB Finals)
11:30am Sunday (LB Finals)
I know they were battling a bunch of issues, so it is what it is, but I believe there was a better way to do it.
I take that back. This is my smallest complaint. The bracket was seeded incorrectly too.
All easily fixable things. I give the feedback, because I care. If were to come back next year, and it was done the same way, I'd simply take it off my schedule moving forward. I'd rather not do that though.
