This in my view is taking a cheap shot at a player that’s playing hurt and facing father time and mother nature advancing on him from all sides.. |
You have to evaluate the most important part of playing his position.
That is… score his game against the rest …does he deliver a pitch that is harder to square up then other pitchers?
My guess is…. for the last 15+ maybe even the last 20 years.. Andy has consistently been the top pitcher when it comes to being hard to hit off.
I will leave it up to those facing him this year to rank where he stands on the hard to hit against list right now…
but my guess is… his knuckleball still dances all over the place and he still delivers a pitch that barely reaches the minimum height limits so he can add as much pace/speed as possible.
I alway thought it was admirable to top players to not quietly go into the night…and I admire Andy’s game right now more then I ever have before…to shorten a great poem.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Do not go gently into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light”
