I'm ok with it. What one does to their body is their choice. Some people don't have time or desire to go to the gym for 1 or 2 hrs a day. So if thwy can poke their ass with a needle instead whats it matter, same difference... They should let all pro sports use them, if they get paid all that money they might as well put on a show..🤷‍♂️

Using PED's is not against the rules in slow pitch softball. Not even in the same category as an illegaly altered bat.

Who cares if someone wants to take PED's, what if they are doctor prescribed? Does that count? What is a PED (Performance enhancing drug) so does that go for Adderall, coke, redbull, weed, nitric oxide bosters, doctor prescribed HGH? An argument could be made that those enhance ones performance. What about equipment? I can tell you that not all turf shoes are made the same, so do my nike air give me a competitive performance advantage over something else? Everyone knows that some bats are "hotter" than others, if you swing a hotter legal bat is that an advantage? Batting gloves, fielding gloves, should this guy use his BFG that 1.25 feet and that guy only has a 11 1/2 inch glove. That's a softball playing advantage but its a choice.

I can tell you IDGF what you put in your body to play softball. If you feel you need that then so be it. Its not illegal in our sport so I have no issue at all.

Just let it go, or maybe take it over to the SSUSA board because lots of old dudes have found the fountain of youth. Replacement therapy or the male revitalizing product that the Big hurt is pedaling all over the tv are performance enhancers as well. Probably a lot more PEDs being used in senior softball than regular.

I don't care what someone puts in there body to play the game of slow pitch softball. I would actually recommend testosterone use for anyone who does it properly under the supervision of a doctor. As far as some players "juicing out of their minds", yes it 100% happens at EVERY level of play. Can you point out some guys that are most likely on them, absolutely. But here is the thing, just because someone is massive and cut up doesn't mean they are taking steroids. And vice versa, just because someone isn't muscular and strong doesn't mean they aren't taking steroids. Talent is talent PERIOD.

As far as the shaved/doctored bats go. Yes it happens at every level of play as well. To what degree, I honestly don't think anyone will ever know. Do I agree with them? If they are actually testing bats, I don't care what you swing as long as it passes. If people really have a problem with it and honestly feel someone is taking advantage, call time, ask to protest the bat and it can be rechecked I believe. The problem with shaved/doctored bats isn't in the Conference, it lies in the lower levels where they don't test bats. And the bat doctors will always find a way to beat the system, it is their job to do that. And anywhere they test bats and then give the bat back to you when it passes for you to keep is the most ridiculous thing to do. You can go hit stadiums, have the bat rolled in the parking lot, hell I've even heard of guys shaving them after they get tested. This is why there isn't really an issue in the Conference because they keep your bats until you are out of the tournament so you can't mess with them. And TIM, before you come back with the "at Disney when such and such had access to the room", provide PROOF and FACTS or don't bother chiming in about assumptions and hearsay.

First, your honesty is what the game needs more of..not less.

So it’s great you post with a name that can be associated with yourself and your honest opinion.

The problem with your view is that if it (ped) becomes required to compete on the field of play you more or less end up with a very small program..please see the current major division.

When PED use is more or less required it is hard for the game to stay a sport when clean players play against PED power guys.

This PED power advantage is why I hate big fields without real strong homerun limits. It rewards PED use.

I am sure you personally understand this and have seen it or maybe felt it at the field.

I understand it’s impossible to get PED power out of softball BUT... it’s easy to improve the game while eliminating most of the offensive advantage while also making the game safer.

Move to smaller, 300 foot fields , put strong home run limits in play, use a little softer ball bat combo that still allows average players to hit homeruns...in other words...the game needs to eliminate or dramatically reduce the value of home runs... I am sorry... the support of PED use has taken the game to this point.

To close... do you really, honestly, believe using PED is equal to spending 1 to maybe 2 hours in the gym every day? Now that one is funny.

I use Test because it improves my quality of life and has absolutely nothing to do with softball. To be honest I have not seen any improvement in my game that can be atested to being on it. I am not a conference/elite player but I am also not a D player.

What exactly do you think PEDs do?

You act as if you just take them and get magical power and you seem to diminish the fact that you have to also workout and lift and eat correctly for the gains to actually factor.

If I took steroid or whatever all off season and sat on the couch and didn’t workout come first weekend I doubt I’d be blasting balls much further than I did before like you make it seem.

Yes I believe the returns or using steroids or dark market product probably yields higher returns that any over the counter product but holy cow the over the counter stuff these days is pretty good if you do the nutritional side right. To assume everyone at the top of softball now uses dark market products when you can get quality stuff over the counter is a bit of a stretch, I also don’t doubt that some do.

With USSSA implementing very good bats and balls.Its causing guys to not need the PEDS to play this game. Every year come softball season i see less and less guys gassed up. If usssa keeps up with good bats and balls i think the PED usage will go down. Will peds 100% not be used of course not. only two things in life that are 100% death and taxes and i'm not so sure about taxes...

You forgot also that the tournaments last year on 300 foot fields were the worst games in conference history.

Maybe it was a lazer show... if that was the case... drop the homerun limit to 8 for every conference game... it will dramatically reduce rockets hit up the middle... If you doubt that it helps... go spend a weekend at the forty or fifty ssusa major or major plus worlds

If you need some additional pitcher protection...

Narrow the batters box

Widen the pitching rubber

and...wait for it....use....THE FLOATING RUBBER

I don't have anything to do with the rules but it was a lazer show because of the batted ball speeds not because of the home runs.

the laser show goes down when the liner drives leave the park...The game becomes more of a doubles skill test with bat control winning the offensive side of the game...

Kinda picture Andy leading the major world series in homeruns one year and then trying to punch balls down the left and right field lines at the senior worlds the next year...

This really isn’t rocket science... It has already been proven... ask any ex-conference player or current conference player that’s played in the 40 or up SSUSA Worlds in Las Vegas

For a roid boy...The senior game in Vegas takes more skill then the Major World Series

I guess its just different in conference.

Hard balls on 300's is the worst softball in conference history. Not to mention dangerous.

That was 10 years ago when andy hit all the home runs at disney.
