Dunn Fallows the Money Train and Goes to Bad Draw

Sad news, just another player fallows the money train and the hope USSSA conference to start to change from big money contracts that never last seems to take many steps back. Dunn has taken the money and goes to Bad Draw. Bad Draw frees up their Dan Smith like cap by releasing Bartman and Pwang and probably gave their money to Dunn. Unfortunately, it seems that only a few players learned their lesson from the Dan Smith way of trying to win by buying teams.

I am pretty sure dan smith won the major in 2019 and dominated 2020.

a player that leaves a team to go to a team that makes a higher offer I guess you could say “followed the money”

But Dunns team folded and money and offers aren’t known so the title of your post comes across as jealousy.

Mullins better than Dodds but like the other 3 for sure all 4 majoe teams will be pretty even

Funniest thing about these posts about Bad Draw is that nobody knows what they are paying these guys. They keep saying they are trying to buy a title, but have no idea what is being spent. Keep in mind, the guys from Dan basically had 4 teams to pick from if they wanted to play Major. And two of those teams, Resmondo and Juno, were happy with their guys, and had very little room for pickups.

Dunn gives BD a CF that’ll be there each weekend. He did Ellwanger and Haglund a solid. Neither were getting much burn with Williams, Wolf, Collins, Wilson, Martel all in the fold between OF/1B/C/EH spots.

Maybe MPT and Resmondo rather keep their core and build a team out of chemistry. It is a FACT that Bad Draw was offering 30k to half of the conference just so they wouldnt sign with other teams while they figure out who to keep. If ypu look at the roster, 90% of the teams players are known to only play for the highest bidder while Reamondo and MPT are known for building their programs with a pick up here and there. More then likely, Bad Draw promised money they can not pay and that team will fold or have isses if they dont win.

You may have missed the fact the Bad Draw group won A then AA in back to back years and then was beating Resmondo in the semifinals by 9 before the offense was off for 3 innings and they lost.

I would say leave them alone they seem to know what they are doing.

It is December, there are many more days until the season starts. Too many variables right now for ANY Conference team to be scrutinized about folding, picking up, switching players, etc. The folding of DS shook up the entire Conference from top to bottom. The bottom hasn't felt it yet, but it is starting to trickle down slowly and will keep going until the season starts and most likely beyond that. One thing that is in the back of my mind as I'm sure it is in many other sponsors and coaches, what happens if Cali and west coast states start to shut down again and restrict travel? There are a bunch of players over there playing on various teams.

Did Ben Dunn chase the dollar? Only he and the teams who offered him a contract really know the true answer to that. Maybe he went to where he thought he had the best opportunity to win a MWS out of all the offers and they just happened to be paying the most. Just because some people don't think the team he chose has a better chance to win doesn't mean everyone thinks like that. To each their own in that matter. And if he did chase the $, isn't that his prerogative and a choice that he made for himself and not the entire softball community.

Good luck to Ben Dunn and every other player in the Conference and the rest of the softball world this year. Hopefully we get to enjoy a somewhat normal season this year.

Do they keep track of the most conference events won? Because I’m pretty sure “domination” would be winning a championship game in three innings in embarrassing fashion. While Dan smith fellas were crying (AP), pacing the stands (well limping- AC), and enjoying some AC in the Easton/Demarini suite (Marshburn).

I was showing that the management has done a really good job.

You were questioning their ability to put teams together which the track record is they are better every year.

There was a time Dunn played for Reds/Astros and struggled to get playing time. Now he’s arguably the most valuable player on the field no matter who he’s playing for or against. Although this post is a bit comical I do find it fitting considering the hard work he’s put in to be at the top and the sponsors that refused to take a shot on him. Hard work and a desire to be the best put him in a position to play where he wants. Congrats, Dunner!
