Question for seniors and national all star teams.

I was playing in the 50 major plus worlds a few weeks ago and I was told some team skipped worlds because ssusa would only allow teams build from east of west of the mississippi.

It it true that some players and teams in the 40 and up divisions really are scared to compete with players from just HALF THE COUNTRY?

I find that hard to believe....

Tim if I were to guess it would have nothing to do with being scared and everything to do with not wanting to play without all their own players.

One thing with softball is your create relationships with people all over the country as you climb the ranks. Why should you get punished and get to play due to living in a different region? What is this? Orinda little league with Zip code checks?

I was told some usssa senior teams couldn’t grow the strength the build a team from just east or west of the mississippi.

On that usssa senior stuff... how is that unlimited national
rosters , homerun derby program going?

Is it true the are going to be using 11 inch softball next year with screens in front of every infielder?

USSSA follows USSSA rules, which just like all other levels of play they allow national rosters.

SSUSA has their own guidelines which they have had for a long time (Same with ISA, SPA, etc.). In SSUSA, your roster must be from bordering states, with an exception for 2 players that can be from non-bordering states but the same side of the Mississippi River, as the state the team is registered out of.

Yes, National USSSA senior teams will either adjust their roster to play ISA,SPA, or SSUSA (which I believe draws the most senior teams overall), or not play. Their decision.

The talent on the teams at SSUSA worlds is second to none. FBI/Miken/Worth 50 Major+ team can attest to that. They were probably the best 50+ team all year long, and had an off weekend by their standards at SSUSA worlds. The teams there were all very good.

I don’t think FBI had an off weekend.... although their shortstop did make one error or two in the two games we played against them. And I don’t think he normally makes an error once a month.

I think they just were banged up (Alan Tanner) at a couple positions ( they had Mike Kosher in right field;-) and not totally prepared to play games where almost everyone could hit homeruns.

I am sure it’s shocking to come west without the humidity and play at high elevation with rock hard softballs where homerun hitters are not needed and every 175 athlete can hit the ball 350.

It was interesting that one team we played against snuck illegal balls into the game for a few innings..why in the hell does anyone need to upgrade a Rock 44/375 softball. I don’t remember the name of the team but Ray Cowart was catching for them.

They scored 7, 7 and then 6 runs in the first three innings and then when we figured out the illegally HOT balls stuff... they scored about three runs total in the next three innings.

It was very comical listening to them cry about the balls... they even went to the...“ we bought the balls at this event” crap until I said... let’s walk over and address this at the directors table because you guys deserve your money back.

Because, SADLY, usssa to this point hasn’t built a program worth going to....and....Dalton sucks.

I still am amazed that usssa hasnt figured seniors out yet..I mean really...how hard is it to copy ssusa?

As for either of the senior Smokys... seniors on baseball fields...yep...that’s appealing...NOT.

Yeah Timmy but in 1991 PED usage in Northern California was running wild. In fact the AA world champs where from northern Cal and that team was full of purchases PED power. 😉😉😉😉😉

He is just trying to throw clean men in 1991 into his PED club.

I think John played about five tourneys with us before he quit because he couldn’t start on our team. And that’s not really a knock on John....We had a World Series record setting hitter as a pitcher that he couldn’t pitch with and there was no way he could start in our outfield.

To this date he has not even attempted to name the supposed five guys on our team that were on PED... while I on the other hand have talked with everyone still alive from our team and they have all laughed out our at Johns statement.

Come to think of it....KEGS monitors most posts on this site....this is a great time for John to stand up and swear on all his loved ones life’s he heard five guys from our 1991 team say they were on PED...

Yea like you cheated when you sand bagged and won the 50 major in Vegas. Tim there is many different ways of cheating, you seem to do it by roster manipulation, cheating is cheating

This would be a great time for EVERYONE on your 91 team to stand up and swear on all their loved one life’s that they did not use PEDs. And until that happens we’ll have to assume that they are not real men and did purchase PED power to be able to compete.

Afraid of heat and humidity? Las Vegas, Arizona, California don't get hot enough for you. In USSSA, everyone has to travel east for worlds. Why can't senior teams travel West to worlds for the biggest Senior tournament in the world? The East Coast teams have big money, a lot of the west coast teams don't.

Suncoast won the 50 major+, they were hot all weekend. They earned it, and their 40s team is tough every year, as well.

Tim, you have continually dodged the question on why dont west coast teams come east? I dont want to hear anything about budget because my 40MP team won the SSUSA this year and we are self funded...ISSA has a bunch of huge tournaments on the east coast that you could play in...and by the way, we (FBI/Worth/Miken) had our worst tournament in the year in Phoenix but please remember that we go play where all the good teams are every chance we get and we have been very successful the past 3 years...

Heat and humidity is different in the east, the ball doesn’t fly like the west. The east team do come west for the SSUSA worlds. You answered that by stating who won the 50 major plus worlds. And the 40 major plus world winner was also from the east coast

My question for you is this, why do you always charge at the Umpires when you make an out ? Is it the Umpires fault that you hit a bad pitch ? I was in PHOENIX as you were and my god you going after Umpires is as bad as Tim complaining on here.

As I come to find out, you do this all the time during the 2020 Sr season. I would ask you this are you the most dislike Sr player out there or Is Tim ????

I'm gonna go with you, since your teammates and current Sr players you have played spoken but they are afraid to say it to your face. Maybe it might time to settle down on the workouts my friend.

It would be a great idea to try to have the seniors start a senior circuit with around four big events across the country but we would need to have a standard for rosters for sure and close to the same playing field rules.

Out west ... in norcal... we can play every weekend against pretty good competition so the need to play travel is very limited but.... four weekends spread out over the year sounds like fun and maybe doable.

As of now... as a guy that’s played senior ball for about 13 years...The answer to your question on why west coast teams don’t go east? My answer would be...because we don’t think (maybe because of ignorance) that there are any events worth playing.

I had a chance to play at this years usssa
smoky in the 50s and I turned it down... crap balls on a baseball size field with a stupidly high hr limit didn’t sound like it was worth going to...then again...I am not a senior bloated up on PED wanting to stand out with my power on a larger then softball field so that might explain part on it.

How about we start a new thread on trying to set up four big events in four different associations... it could be called the seniors grand slam?

Who is MD22... we played FBI twice and I do not remember anyone charging the umpire...

Maybe MD didn’t make on out in our games in Phoenix;-)

I just figured out who it is.... me calling him Kosher for about a year must have blurred my recollection on Mike Dill... and no...ai don’t think Kosher Dill is bad for the game...I actually think he enhances the senior experience...at least when I have played against him at ssusa worlds over the last two years...in both 40s and 50s...
