“Why Lie” who lives on JBLM at Salem Pl, did you sit in on our Zoom meetings with our Fastpitch program to coordinate field allocations? Did you attend the meetings with the City of Kent this week? Have I had you assist with talking with the cities of Everett, Lynnwood, Bothell, Redmond, DesMoines, Federal Way, Lacey, Olympia, Auburn, And/or the parks departments from Lacey, Kent, Puyallup, and Longview? Also, did you happen to request my phone records for the countless texts and phone calls that had taken place? |
If you can answer yes to any of those questions, then speak up. It’s easy to be a Monday Morning Quarterback. I’m sure you probably had an idea that wouldn’t have cost anyone any money.
Monday at 2pm, we learned all of our backup plans were taken from us. The City of Kent requested a schedule for approval from their directors. Myself, Don Cooper and my wife were in the meeting with the parks department leadership. I don’t believe you were there?
We made some slight adjustments to the schedule, resubmitted and we were GTG. We handled everything we could control. We can not stop a Governor from making the decision that he did. At this point, it is what it is. I have not dwelled on it and have been working to make sure that events we do have scheduled are still possible, see if we can make up some West Coast locations, possibly add 2 or 3 duals to the schedule, and finalize the location of the Last Chance/Conference Championships.
This year isn’t normal, nothing can be guaranteed, we have to be prepared for some let downs, and ultimately keep moving forward. I fully expect the haters to chatter, and the keyboard know it alls to give their two cents on what “we should have or should do”. I can promise you, there isn’t any options that are not looked at. We all have to remember EVERYONE involved in sports is dealing with the same issues. We can’t expect directors or parks to give up facilities for CUSSSA events.
Happy Independence Day Everyone! Even you “why lie”, I will see you at our next event and I hope you’re as honest to my face as the keyboard.
