It’s too bad there is such a divide here. When I was playing (ions ago) in the “conference” we looked forward to try and earn a berth to the ASA Supers as an ASA Major Team. We always wanted to and competed against the very best each weekend. I was usually on a top 10-15 team trying to knock off the very best 1-4 teams. Unfortunately, times have changed, Associations have changed, and players attitudes have changed. But, we can all certainly be assured that out Love of the game continues to drive us to compete, have fun, and enjoy competition. The beauty of the game of slow pitch softball and I’m blessed at the age of 58 to keep playing it. Most of all to my fellow ballplayers, do what you need to to stay safe with your families during these difficult times. The game will be there anxiously awaiting us all when this dies down. DW, thank you for your encouragement of the game and the players playing it. |
