Some play and have had decent success. I play 16" as my first rec sport and Mark Holstein also played in the conference for a decent amount of time. Most here don't like 12" because of the bats and balls. As for a conference team competing in 16" I am certain they could if we are playing with gloves. Without gloves it would be difficult to beat the better Chicago teams since we play without them all the time. I would love to see a top team come to 16" gloved Nationals labor day weekend. Previously we had a team of 12" players from california compete and take second a few years ago. With practice, because of the amount of time conference players dedicate to getting better, I believe conference players would beat our local 16" teams. Most 16" players barely take bp. We typically just play league night which matters here unlike most 12" leagues. |
Come play. Less bs to deal with. And don't expect weekend money. It's softball not a job.
PS John...I believe the cops were called cause it was coed rec and there was quite the back and forth going on. Wasn't there and heard about it from someone there. You can hit middle all day and no one complains ever in the men's A and major games. Never.
