Who’s played A/Major the longest?

Helmet?

Baker? Think he broke in late 90s with Hendus

Purcell? Started with Sunnyvale mid to late 90s?

Rulli? I know he’s done now but a great run

Just curios is all. Getting a little boring in here lately

Mike Macenko would know better. The guys mentioned are legends and play/played at the top level for over 20 years or more. Only going by memory, Curtis Williams started in early 70s. He made the Old Open (Pre-super class). But the highest level of ASA. He was an All American in 1977 and then in 2000, was a ASA Super National all American. 23 year gap. This impressive. I'm sure there were others back in the day who may have had some 20 plus years of doing this. Just my humble opinion.

Even Mike Macenko himself played Major ball in the mid to late 70s and stayed there until the mid 90s or so.

If I were guessing I would say Mackenko played at a high level for possibly the longest period.

Purcell is up there as well as Helmer.

Maybe Craig Elliot

Dennis Rulli also. If Dennis would become a pitcher he could probably extend his career again.

DW I THINK JASON KENDRICK SHOULD BE ON THAT LIST I KNOW HE PLAYED WITH A TEAM THAT WAS MAJOR CALLED VERNONS OUT OF FLORIDA I THINK THE YEAR WAS 1993 AND I AM NOT SURE WHEN HE STOPPED PLAYING AT THE MAJOR LEVEL

Kendrick may very well be the longest playing major player and he is still giving back to the game as a manager and putting teams together. And he did play the hall of fame classic last year with Riot Sports AA.

I know Rick Scherr played for Copper Hearth 1971 & was playing for Ritch's Superior in 1992. I know Mike Nye played for Warren Motors in 1970 & was playing for Vernon's II in the mid 90's. Randy Gorrell played for Howard's in '72 & played or managed into the late 90's.Ricky Huggins was with Thompson's in 1979 & played for 20 years. Charlie Wright played with Ken Sander's in 1977 & was playing with Easton in 1998. I'm sure there are more examples such as Rick Weiterman & Buddy Slater & Tim Perryman. No doubt that Curtis Williams career is one of the most impressive.

I remember the early 80's we played against Ron Parnell when he was with Capitol Insulation. And he played all through the 90's with different major teams.
