Are you that worried about your bottom line that you can't or won't cancel this weekend. The money that will be wasted by sponsors this weekend as well as the safety of all players, coaches, sponsors and families. Get your heads out of your asses. I've already canceled my travel plans but players don't always have the funds or means to take a financial hit.

From all the reports I have seen it looks as if we are going to get it in with no issues. So why are you on here crying?

It's not a matter of getting the Tournament in, it's about getting out of there after the tournament. They are telling the people there in Melbourne to get out and we are coming there to be part of what could be the biggest Hurricane in 30 years!! Does that make any sense?

Think of the people that actually live there. To you guys itís a game. To them itís a loss of life and property! The last time we went to Disney a hurricane was coming.i drove down 12hr so it didnít affect me. Our players ended up taking their rental cars! Ouch!
Update at noon and latest forecast

Utrip is supposed to have an update around noon today according to their email that was sent out to the teams on Wednesday.
Everyone is an adult and can make their own decisions but please leave your name if you are posting about the hurricane on oldscout so that we can trust what you are saying.
I am not saying to play or cancel and have nothing to do with the decision. Two years ago posters on oldscout said over and over the association should cancel the AA and was crazy if they didn't and it was played in full with no issues. These decisions are best made by the leadership that actually live there. Just my opinion.

Same thing down here in Miami, gas stations were empty this morning at 3 different ones I stopped at and the store shelves are emptied and no water at the stores. by the time the water comes out on the pallets they were gone.

What happened to getting your water from the good old fashioned spigot?
Posted by Joe Watcher on August 29, 2019, 3:06 pm, in reply to "Re: Hurricane "
spigot is useless if public water becomes contaminated during the hurricane
if it keeps building it could be the the worst hurricane about a year. we just went though a pretty rough one named Michael a category 5. lime dw said if you don't want to come don't. i stead of complaining about a softball tournament lets pray for the people that live there. hopefully it wont be as bad as it was in panama.

As a lifelong Brevard resident there will most likely be a mandatory evacuation Saturday afternoon so you can get out of the county. If this storm is a large 4 or small 5 it will be wider than the state and being in Ga maybe good.
I spent 20 years in Broward County. Had to prep many many times. Prepare people! As far as the softball goes & the folks visiting: getting there is the easy part. And you are on vacation. As this thing gets closer, think about the residents as you search for food, gas, etc. Is it worth it? If they say Ďevacuateí, then evacuate!!! I hope everyone stays safe!
Mandatory evacuations in Brevard are on the news currently starting at 8am Sunday. If I was you Iíd leave on Saturday am. Lots of people will procrastinate and not leave until the last minute. Flights from Orlando and Melbourne and Sanford will not fly out. Please have a plan. Iím leaving Friday night to miss all the people. On average 1 hour drives to 8-9 hours last time. Good luck.
