Mark Patterson has known Bubba Mack since he was a kid playing around Milton, Florida where they’re both from. I know it’s super strange to think two people are from the same hometown. Maybe since me and Dunner went to the same high school I should go sign him so I can see y’all say Mark bought him a house too lol.
Bubba always told Mark he would finish his career with him and Mark always kept the pressure on. There’s literally nothing else to it. Brett Helmer was gracious enough to not block that correspondence because he knows that relationship is deeper than slowpitch as Bubba and Patterson are more like FAMILY.
Monsta offered bubba a significant amount of money. An offer that only a player of Bubba’s ability and most important , character , are worthy of… but some things are bigger than immediate money. Mark Patterson takes care of FAMILY.
Logan wasn’t “bought a landscape business”. Mark bought and OWNS the lawnmower route and Logan runs it for him with the ability to own it one day if he works hard to expand it. Crazy how that works. Work hard , expand something, and then own it.
This is what Competitive Edge is about though. We want to take care of our OWN for longer than one year by giving them OPPORTUNITIES to be great on the field and in life.
But at the end of the day it’s what they do with those opportunities that matter.
