Re: Poll: Offseason Hit & Sit Show
I think one thing that the audience is going to have to keep in mind is that this is a USSSA product, and the juicy stuff that we REALLY want to hear is not going to be broadcast and put out there in the public. The drama, money, and suspension rumors are great to talk about at the field or in the parking lot, but USSSA is not going to put it on their platform and the panelists aren’t going to put their faces out there like that for their own business decisions. Another problem is that the YouTube channel is USSSALive which is where all sports are posted. The Softball guys actions on the show reflect all of USSSA on that channel. A “ConferenceUSSSASoftball” channel where all of this is kept separately is likely the best move.
Honestly DW, I think the best off-season content could be just doing a video version of your Free Agent form. To be successful on YouTube you have to post consistently, and doing short 10-15 minute interviews would be good content during the off-season. Minimal editing required, and easier to schedule since it only involves two people rather than 4-5. The questions may get repetitive to viewers, but the players will know what’s going to be asked ahead of time and can prepare interesting responses. The format means that viewers aren’t required to “watch”. They can listen to it while on the commute, on the treadmill to make the awful 10-15 minute cardio sessions more bearable, or while cooking dinner even. Just my thoughts, but I look forward to seeing more content coming out!
