October - Active rest. Lots of injuries & aches/pains need to be addressed. Don't be a couch potato but don't overdo it.
November/December - Begin to lift again, not too intense, not too much hypertrophy, just building work capacity and exposing CNS to weights
January - Kick it into gear. Lifting heavy.
March+ - I would still lift heavy to maintain strength built in the off season, but just not as frequent.
