Runner on 3rd base, batter hits a flare in foul territory, runner on 3rd steps off bag in foul territory and the 3B runs into him and does not catch ball. Call by ump is runner interference, runner at 3rd is out, an batter was awarded first base.

To me the call is runner at 3rd is out and batter is back in batters box.

Any thoughts?
