In my opinion, if a player just ‘wants out’, they should offer to pay back any and all monies spent on said player from the beginning of that season (including off season). That would be a start. However, if said player isn’t getting to play much and has opportunity to go somewhere else and play, then just get reimbursed for any travel already booked and not used. But that is just me. And yes, players should have some type of protection just like sponsors and I’ve believed in that since I started.
