I miss the 90's and aluminum bats!!!

Now a question I have is why wasn't John's bat taken by the umpire when Reck got hit in the head? Anytime a player gets hit like that, the bat is supposed to be taken to be checked and that didn't happen. That is where Travis grabbed the bat and Flip started chirping with him as that bat needed to be tested and wasn't.

How come the umpire let that go as that has always been the case at all levels with re-testing the bat?
