My brother works for the ACL. The ACL owner spent 10's of thousands of dollars to get cornhole on ESPN. Finally after pouring money into it for years it started to get ratings and now advertising pays for the shows and ESPN actually comes to the ACL to fill time.

Awesome for them.

USA and USSSA did the same with the border battle and conference but conference was up against football and never got the ratings to stand on its own. I don't know that it ever could.

I've always said softball would have to be its own cable channel with college and pro women's fastpitch and slowpitch running 24/7 is the only way it could make it.

It all comes back to the slowness of the pitch. The mass of sports fans out there cannot get it out of their minds that the speed of the pitch is silly. And that is ok.
