I have been fortunate enough to umpire the highest levels in softball for ASA (USA) in the biggest tournaments. This was in the 90's when USA was relevant at the highest level. It is not easy to do it well at any level, but it is tougher the higher you go. The concentration behind the plate in a Major/Super game is unbelievable.
