Re: Major Player List?
JB, I agree 100%. USSSA is gonna have to say, "we definitely F***ed up somewhere with classifications". Couple good examples just from our team. We had a guy that played USSSA D Worlds last year in Viera and made the damn Watch List this year. Another guy that played E and D class last year that made the Watch List this year. Both guys first year ever playing Conference, one of which didn't play a full season, yet they are both Major Watch List Players?? How about you let them give you 2-3 seasons of consistent numbers before throwing them on a list like that. You take a team like ours and we are now .25 points from the limit before we would have to play Major and we only picked up 3 guys. By all means, congrats to all the players on the list. But those lists have to actually mean something for the players and it should definitely take more than 1 season to make the list. And take Nightmare as an example, they were right at the limit of being bumped to AA. They are the one team who finished in the Top at A Worlds that I believe should be able to stay A class. They weren't consistent at all last year but they had a few good runs at tournaments. They deserve a shot at A Worlds next year and maybe a more consistent year. I knew this was our 1 shot at A Worlds because we were moving up to AA no matter what. Plan to stay AA 1-2 years and then move up to Major. Otherwise, what is the point in even fielding a team in the Conference if you aren't striving to get to the top. Just my opinion. And if anyone is on the classification committee that is directly involved with another Conference team, that is the biggest joke in the entire organization.
