Softball is consolidated on the weekends now for competitive stuff for the most part. Local league night teams and E teams have no resemblance. If you think the golf ball/fire stick combo grows the game, just look at participation since the composites came out. They are not the only issue hurting softball by any means, but it shows they certainly don't grow the game. Anything that slows the game down, and brings defense, base running, and athleticism over power is what the game needs to be moving toward.
If you want to keep the conference running with this type of equipment fine, but at the lower levels its been an abject failure.
