Dan married his wife Jean out of high school
They had three children Dan3 Steven and Chris
he Skipped college
His dad said it was a dumb move/throwing his future away
Dan took his Dads 5-7 man ( I don’t remember the exact number but it was small) stucco company and blew it up into the biggest union company on the west coast
at one point Dan wanted to bring the SF plasterers into the south bay… their union leaders said NO
he let them know he wasn’t asking… we was letting them know and wondering if they could work something out..they said no
he more or less broke their union
Dan loved playing softball and was a fierce competitor.
He traveled and played a little with his two oldest boys Danny and Steven
at one point Dan had a chance to buy Stucco Supply.. a huge supply company on the west coast/maybe the biggest.. he bought it which meant even when he lost building bids.. me made money supplying the product
at the point Dan started losing bids because he was union…
He helps Steve start South Bay plastering… a non-union company
Through it all Dan enjoyed big game hunting…he had/maybe still has a HUGE trophy room (about the size of a jr high basketball gymnasium) with animals he has hunted around the world.
His hunts included flying into civil wars and being jumps on by a leopard that tore part of his ear off… if the claw had hit his jugular artery just inches away he would have bleed out and died.
I really can’t fill you in on the more recent parts of Dan’s life but…I know one thing for sure… just like that leopard that almost killed him…his spots have not changed and he still must hate not winning and is driven to succeed…. almost at any cost.
And…no matter what… HIS BOYS COME FIRST
