Architects don't take a lot of things into consideration when the design/build things.
It's not the best example but a new building that I worked in years ago had a dozen doors attached to the main concourse. The scholars who designed each room with a different entrance key even though all doors needed be accessed by the main room. The scholars (Architects) thought it would be best to have a key ring with 12 keys attached. First thing I did was have all the locks changed with a master ($100 bucks).

And what I see in those videos is zero space between the foul lines and the fence lines for saftey. But I guess I look at s#$@ like that.
