They'd be Brazilian. No one says,"I'm South American". They're not Portuguese simply because they speak the language. It's the same way I'm not Spanish because i speak Spanish. I think this is where the confusion is. It's harder to differentiate Latinos of different countries because we "all" speak Spanish. If you're not around many of each, you're probably not going to notice the different types of words they use or the accent of sorts. If you're from the US, do you say you're North American? There could be a difference between where you're from, where you live and your nationality. What would you call me if I was born in CA, raised in TX, but now live in CA and am Mexican? (Mexican American would be it). There are a lot of variables, so I await your next questions.
