Their answer and solution is the 240 bats. Hopefully they are right. I do know they tried to get bigger fields on the schedule but it is nearly impossible to get the bigger fields on weekends that fit into the schedule because of youth sports.
I then expressed concern that the 240 number isn't enough and that if that isn't the answer they need to have a backup plan.
I personally no longer enjoy watching conference softball on 300 foot fields. Think about the games in Virginia, Cincinnati, the conference championships - they were laser shows and extremely boring. It doesn't even resemble the game that it is supposed to. It is exhausting.
At the BLD's they should use the hycor ball. Probably should try the hycor ball on all 300's just to see how it performs.
325's and baseball fields make for great games with todays bats and balls. HOF Dual, Myrtle Beach, Smoky, 2nd Seattle Dual, Columbus Ohio, and the USSSA Worlds, as well as the main 2 fields at the USA Super and AA nationals are all now my favorite events because of field size.
