Absolutely correct, Dale. All sports are losing officials because of the verbal abuse from players, managers and fans. You bring in physical assault that is not strongly punished, then more experienced umpires will quit. In the 70's and 80's, umpirtes and players didn't always agree, but any physical assaults,if there were any, were seriously handled. We live in a new world now. The respect for any authority is becoming seriously nill.
