Adding a players name to a bad will not move the needle, at all. It doesn't really matter at all whose name is on the bat. Its a nice way to honor someone who is good yes, but its not about being a masher or who is the best. Its about who is a good choice to be a brand ambassador and every one of the guys you listed can cover that job.

You could paint a softball bat to be a carbon copy of dick, and if it was the hot bat on the rack, softball guys will swing it.
