How can I look up my PRV?
Players can log into their profile and view their PRV within their player locker under the player summary tab. This change also forces players to log into their profile on a regular basis prior to joining teams vs once a year to complete their waiver and approve roster invites.
How will a manager know what a player is rated?
Managers can view their player’s PRV on their roster after adding a player or prior to adding via their former players list. They can also ask their new players to log into their profile and provide them with the information prior to adding the player.
Will this open up sandbagging since teams can’t openly view opposing team PRV’s?
Absolutely not. The system will not allow teams to exceed the established roster guidelines. If a player is listed on an online roster, they are approved to play by the director and vetted by the system. The roster guidelines and system functionality hasn’t changed other than PRVs are no longer viewable by the public.
If a player isn’t listed on a public roster, there are a few possibilities: the player was never added which makes them illegal, the player is listed as Pending so they are ineligible, or the system didn’t allow the player add due to drop down player restrictions so they are illegal. No matter what, you can protest a roster if a player isn’t listed. This will trigger a director validating or invalidating a protest which has always been our process.
Why is USSSA/GSL eliminating player rating transparency?
Players can view their own PRV, managers can view their own current and former players PRVs, and teams can view other team rosters which is vetted by the system. Not sure how much more transparency our registered teams need.
