Ok so it was a usssa built point guidance system. Id be willing to bet that whoever classifies teams also uses that point system. So it could easily also be used in season.

My opinion is it would open it up for AA teams that cant afford full major rosters to add a couple more pieces to be more competitive through out the year and at the Major but still drop a couple points players for one weekend to play in the AA world. I think it would make for a better overall competitive regular season then the same 3 or 4 always at the top. (save the this team won this tournament and finished this at that tournament...we get it teams can get hot/cold for one weekend)
