I don’t think today’s players are any better.

Especially at the World Series level.

If you looked at Rich’s line up at their zenith they would have been in the running to win any of the last ten World Series Titles.

You gotta realize the biggest CONference major events are on huge fields with either no home run limit or a very high home run limit.

I played with hightower when he weight under 185 pounds and he was a striebel/Kendrick’s level super fast outfielder... He would have been Rich’s centerfielder...I played against Dwayne Frizzle when he weight maybe 185 pounds (ASA super 1990). We would have been a great 3 man outfielder..this doesn’t even include Whitehead.

As for A and AA today vs the past...of coarse there were more top players in the past..

Why? because in the past more players played and all those elite level players that don’t even try to
move up now because of travel required used to be able to play up without traveling all the time...

You have to understand ..I played with 30-40 elite level players that would NEVER have even considered playing up with the travel requirements needed today...There is a reason many sponsors have to pay players now..because the game is not worth playing for free.

I have done this before on this site so I don’t really need to do it again but...my old A and AA teams were filled with baseball players that were drafted or played D1 baseball/top level D1 football... so the real question would be...how many of today’s elites at A and up were drafted or played on elite D1 teams?
