Re: E W.S. game on White Easton
Hayward is nice because it's only 1/2 hour away, but the bad part is you can't really hang out and Crack some beers, due to the city workers being around. They don't even allow dogs, unless you have proper paperwork. Pleasanton is the most laid back to play at, with all the trees and shade during breaks. Just drove by orange park in south city...can't imagine any tournaments here. Even league, pre-covid has been dying around here. San Francisco couldn't even get 4 teams for spring for their highest league, which doesn't have many tournament players and those that are, are E and a few D players. Guess when things get better, I'll see if I can motivate myself to make that 1/2 hr drive to the creeks for league.
I remember is 2011(?), McKinley ran at tournament at BLD and it was storming. The dugout had water up to the first step, but he wouldn't cancel it because he wanted teams to get their 2 games in, so he wouldn't have to refund teams. What a cheap ass little bastard that guy was. I loved that the higher ups stared coming into town to check on his tournaments, only to find that he would just collect the money and run to the tracks. The best thing around here that happened was him being replaced.
