Re: Danny Williams stories from TM60
I remember reading about that incident in one of the softball newspapers. The story grew each week as you traveled around the country & heard bits & pieces. If I remember correctly(or it could be part of the urban legend lol) Drilling & Williams played on the same league team or in the same league in Houston & were pretty good friends. I believed they patched it up pretty quickly. People forget how good Danny Williams was. He was a great hitter. He could hit for power & base hit as well. He could hit ground balls thru the infield & stand on 2nd. He had tremendous speed even after his size increase. I don't know if you remember, but he was a very good hitter & outfielder before he went to Steele's. He played for Athletic Shop, Apollo, & Bell(I think he was with them before Steele's not after). There is no question Danny tried some gamesanship to intimidate or get under your skin. From what I heard, Danny was a real good leader for Steele's. But I/we never had any issues with him.
