Re: Can a AA Team Ever Win The Majors
Back in the 80s and 90s the USSSA allowed AA teams either 4 or 6 MAJOR Players. The Major teams were allowed unlimited Major players. Doug Berfeldt was a major player. Doug was from Minnesota and Bruce Woods was from Michigan. All the 14 other players were from Ohio. The Monday before the USSSA World Series we played our city championship in Columbus, all 10 starters played in that game and played big roles in the World Series. I always thought that a AA team would and could win it. The AA teams all were set up to be good at the Stadiums. Great pictures, solid D and a mix of base hitters and power. Bunca, spectrum, Dan Smith and several others could have won it. The only other team that won the series was Greg Powers Chase team in 2001 or 2002. It’s been 25 years since we won it and this is the first time I have heard someone say we were a major team in 1995. If we were......we were the smallest major team in the history of major softball.
