It used to be you got 25 compression points either way with ASA to still get a stamp on the ball. Just about everything we buy mass produced in china cheaply has variances like this.
Last I checked, it was simply not cost effective to spec check all the batches for exact compressions. This is just part of paying $5/ball vs $10.
