And sorry Dale, I didn’t mean to respond to you. It was just an overall statement on this weekend’s so called senior world.
It would have made more sense to ask the thousands of average joes why they still play at these ages and not some quirky program geared towards 2 or 3 super major teams. If the intention was to build a conference Senior and scare off the rest of us, we missed the memo.
1) the net is moronic not to mention the rules around it - it actually encourages hitting middle
2) who in the world thinks a designated HR hitter is a great idea? Didn’t they try this 20 years ago?
3) we love to play Senior because we want to smash the ball around the park, not play defensive snore fests. Our bat speed is slower period so give us the super balls
4) it’s supposed to be fun, so adding tons of rules for no reason is just silly. Calling guys out for the back foot being crossing the invisible line parallel to the plate is just plain awful. Again, fun.
Again if the goal was to create an elite conference senior program, you should have told those of us who aren’t the top 50 old guys and instead play because we love it and still can.
