Re: Senior bats and nets
In SSUSA they use a pitcher's box so pitchers can move around and pitch from as far back as 60 feet. The umps typically allow pitchers to throw it 15-18 feet especially from 60 feet. Good pitchers will throw high pitches from 60 feet and back up another ten feet. In my time playing senior ball I've only seen one pitcher get knocked out of a game due to batted ball. The majority of pitchers were successful tourney players when they were younger so you are typically seeing pitchers that were very good in their youth that still can field. Senior batters can still hit the ball hard but not as hard as they could in their youth. Most fielders can catch the can of corn plays but you don't see fielders steal hits like you see in the younger play. Good fielders are like gold in senior play.
