The problem is rather than allow ball makers to make something, and present it to USSSA, Utrip thinks they have a clue about balls and safety. They don't. The upper tier at Utrip needs to change the process, but they'd have to forfeit the money Dudley is paying to supply the conference.
I still think the conference is doing a major disservice by mandating the ball in play. It eliminates any sponsorship or endorsement deals from ball makers.
