Brian was drunk, and got things started when Danny's wife went to the bar to order a drink, and Brian started hittin on her. Then started talking shit and disrespecting her.
I guess winning a softball homerun derby was making him feel cocky and bulletproof.
Brian WAS NOT too drunk to land a punch! Brian hit Danny in the eye while Danny was being held back...by me. (I remember this because 1) he was pissed that I was holding him. 2) He got hit because I was holding him.) Danny had the shiner the next morning to prove it. Quit acting like Brian was innocent in the whole deal!!
Danny then went out the back door and Brian went out front. Danny found him outside. Brian did not run from Danny. He was a willing participant. Danny just finished what Brian got started.
And as far as intimidation went back then...EVERY Major team had someone who was there to intimidate. That's just the way it was. You either buckled to it or you earned their respect by not letting it bother you.
I can assure you of this...intimidation is part of EVERY sport being played. Always has been, always will be.
Just thought I'd clear a few things up for ya.
