I think it was J Mac...I never really followed all the supposed elites.. and yes... I do think he fit that bill in his prime..especially for a big man playing outfield but...my only, bring a smile to my face, memory of him (I am pretty sure it was him)
was at the major world series homerun contest qualifying rounds and he was pitted against Bryson Baker... in the semi final rounds the wind started hollowing in from left field and Bryson had been pulling the all to left field..
with the wind blowing in..Bryson hit six balls in a row out to right field... his opponent lost the round and flung his bat ten rows up into the stands and never retrieved it.
It was one of those “holly crap” Bryson stories.
