in my era players that wanted to get better and move up could do it without having to change their lifeís much except to a lot of practice.
As for why not as many playing..there probably a a bunch of reasons..
steroids..we didnít face to many of PED when the game was localized..and if we did...almost all of them were on the major list
Bats...show up to play the first time with some friends and there are piss rods to flying all over the place..yah...real fun..especially in co ed.
street hood guy mentality..when softball was at its most popular...swearing and you were gone..fighting and you were kicked out of the league...playing rap with F this F that...Pot and drunks hanging around...right..thatís a family friendly environment.
The whole league game system sucks right now unless youíre in a aluminum bat league...shaved bat swingers strutting around with their cheater bats..
yep...and some wonder why participation is down..oh...I forgot...itís because of video games...
You know Dale...maybe I can understand the recreational level being impacted by video game but...there is more serious youth baseball programs then ever before..youth girls serious softball has exploded...there are more high school baseball and softball players then ever before and somehow..the usssa brain trust, I include you in that circle, actually cannot see there are problems with the game...thatís just priceless
