I think everyone realizes with the unknowns surrounding the virus and travel bans etc that this schedule will change again.
I don't know that bashing the new schedule or saying there won't be any softball in 2020 is productive as noone knows what would happen and it can change on a daily basis.
Social distancing does seem to be working in California, Washington, Ohio, and a few other states. Flattening the curve to preserve health resources is still the goal. With the incubation period for the virus being 5 to 14 days it is expected to cause hundreds of thousands of more cases in the USA. No amount of social distancing can stop the virus.
Softball is a distant thought but there is no harm in planning ahead as if there will be a season and if things change or get cancelled it doesn't real hurt anything at this point.
