team: Dan Smith AA vs Steele’s major.
We achieve a rare win over Steele’s and Danny Williams makes the last out of the game.
after the last out williams is cussing and going off (mostly angered at himself because he made the last out/not at our team)
Timmy gets ready for the post game hand shaking but Danny wants none of it (this was when neale started not letting his “boys” shake hands after the games but we didn’t know it at the time).
Timmy runs down the right field line at Williams and I am
thinking...this isn’t going to end well.
Williams is still screaming at himself.
So I start jogging towards them thinking maybe I could help cool things down if this gets ugly.
I see Williams shake his head, swell up and turns his back on Timmy
Timmy rotates around and gets in his face again...
Then...I see Williams shoulders relax and he sticks out his hand and shakes Timmys hand.
Timmy shakes it and jogs back towards us.
Later that day I ask Timmy what was that all about. more or less I said..WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING.
Timmys answer “I told that big f...you were all class after the games when you beat us and your going the shaking my F N hand after we beat you.”
he said that’s when Williams just turned his back..”so I got in front of him again and said we can end this or make it ugly”...so I put my hand out and looked up at Williams...so Williams shook it.
There is no doubt in my mind (nor Danny Williams mind at that point) that if Williams had not put his hand out in good sportsmanship it would have got real ugly.. real fast...It was all about respect for Timmy.
I don’t know who would have won that fight but if Williams won that fight... he would have paid a huge price to achieve it.
Timmy never mentioned that experience again... to me it was a wholly crap story..but then again... I AM NOT A REAL TOUGH GUY.
I don’t know if Danny Williams was or is a real tough guy...I do know two things... his actions were encouraged by Dave Neale and... His antics worked on me... I never wanted to piss him off.
so far we have two Tim Allen stories...and the best one hasn’t been told...
