Re: Homerun vs 4 Base Error
A 4 base award is only rewarded when the batted ball is not going to travel over the fence off the bat but gets touched by a fielder who assisted in helping the ball leave the playing field over the outfield fence. A 4 base award should not be rewarded when an outfielder is trying to rob a batted ball that is clearly going to leave the playig field over the outfield fence.
My question to anyone who disagree is, why should a team/fielder be penalized for trying to make a play on a ball that is clearly already leaving the playing field?
