Players names on bats are not what sells bats...exit speed, durability, size of sweet spot and price all come before the very limited value any players name can add...
At the peak of his career Bruce Meade was the poster boy for the first carbon bat called the Matrix...even he didn’t swing it and it didn’t matter that he was the poster boy...exit speed, sweet spot size, durability and price...Killed it.
When I see most of these elite hitting...I see the PED not the carbon as the difference.
The players know that..that’s why most of them PED up and swing whatever bat they can get for free...
Paying guys anything more then limited equipments or chump change for their name is a waste of money...and yes..I understand there is a long line of guys with names on their bats trying to make pocket change selling bats at $10-$30 profit per bat..
