Re: What softball players could play Mlb that were over looked
Kevin Hickey was a top 16 inch player in Chicago in the late 70s. The White Sox had an open tryout for amateurs and Hickey was signed to a minor league contract. He wound up pitching in the big leagues as a left handed reliever in the 1980s. He threw in the low 90s with good control and played a few years with the White Sox and Orioles. A lot of guys wish they could get the chance to go from softball to pro ball. Quite a story.
