I'm not sure how much sample size we would get though in those categories.
How many tournaments are on baseball fields?
As far as I know, tournaments at BLD facilities are the main ones with 300 softball fields. I think most others are roughly 320-330 which I actually prefer.
Unlimited HR is only Smokey, MWS, and second seattle dual (not sure if second florida dual is unlimited). Although I would be interested to see the statistics I would never side with making the Smokey or MWS limited HR. All other Conference tournaments have strict HR limits.
Personally, I think more than HRs that hurt lower teams is that they try to play the Major Team's game when they face one. Those guys are so strong (natural or not) that if you play them on a 300 field they can fart a ball over the fence on accident. If you're a lower team that can't match power then you have to find the gaps and base hit them to death and use speed. Make them stand on their feet in the sun for extended periods and run them to death when they are on defense. But as soon as the lower team gets their extra homeruns or plays a major team they all want to swing up and throw away the game plan that works for them. You can't play a style of ball that the roster is not built for. I watched my own team against Nightmare in Vegas abandon what had been working the whole tournament for us. Yes Nightmare had far superior talent and earned every one of their runs. But despite my pleading with the players they all stopped swinging for base hits and doubles and tried to erase a 20 run deficit in one swing. Needless to say we got run ruled but it didn't have to be that way had we played our game.
