But he didn't really answer the question. He said the pitchers were too good at being deceptive and it could confuse (im paraphrasing) the upper level umpires if the "pitching area" was 6 feet behind the rubber (apparently Doc hates the floating rubber terminology). Here is the question: why are there two sets of rules for pitching in USSSA slow pitch softball? I agree with moving the rubber back 3 feet
