That in my opinion is why almost all of softball has struggled since the main goal became filling hotel rooms in a couple locations.
TK..are you saying TK stands for five usssa directors? Talk about starting a rock pile;-)
And if that’s true..what’s wrong with open discussions on a message board as a way to brainstorm? Oh..I forgot..the need to fill convention rooms and pay convention fees...just priceless.
Here is an idea...why not try to have events going back towards the start of softball...
I would recommend wood bats on 300 fields with 11 inch softballs... you can monitor exit speed by length of wooden bats allowed...
I have read DD3 and Andy have pushed a big ball tourney at worlds for eliminated teams...
I have always thought that changes like that are needed to save the game...maybe instead of using a 16 inch ball...you regulate the exit ball speed/ball distance to the field dimensions based on length of wooden bat allowed and softball size (11 or 12 inch).
I know...I forgot..USSSA is making too much money on bat registration.
I PASSED THIS IDEA BY ANOTHER ASSOCIATION FOR LEAGUE PLAY...in my view... based on the steep decline in participation anything is worth a try.
How about coed...men swing wood..women swing composite..
The out of the box ideas are almost endless. It’s just to bad TK didn’t stand for T hink K reative;-)
